Walking into the house I’m just ready to relax with my girls and eat some pizza. Wait a minute… my girls? Since when did I think Kali was mine? I had called a few times to check in with them, and she always told me they were fine and having fun. When I walk into the house, though, everything seems quiet, almost too quiet. The cop in me starts to panic, that is until I see something that completely stops my heart. Kali and Alyssa are asleep curled up together on the couch. Basically the same way we fell asleep last night. Seeing Kali holding onto Alyssa like that pulls at my heart. I start to picture this happening every day.

I don’t want to wake them, so I make my way to the kitchen grab some pizza, and then sit down and eat. Alyssa is out for the night, and even though she should eat, I know she’s fine to just sleep through the night. Walking back into the living room, I pick Alyssa up slowly, trying not to wake Kali, and take her to bed. When I come back down the stairs, Kali has shifted and her shirt started to rise up and show a little skin. Shit! Do I wake her up, or take her to a more comfortable place to sleep, like my bed? Screw it! I’m not ready to let her go home just yet. I send a text to Heath to tell them Kali fell asleep and is staying here for the night so they don’t worry, then I go back to her and scoop her up and head to my room.

Yes, I have a guest room, but I don’t want her in there. I want her with me. There is no denying it anymore. Seeing her with Alyssa only makes my feelings for her stronger.

Pulling back the covers, I lay Kali down and head to the bathroom. I think now’s a good time to take a cold shower before I crawl into bed with her. Once I’m done, I put on some pajama pants and crawl under the covers. The minute my head hits the pillow, Kali turns over and wraps her arm around my stomach. I look down and stare at her in awe. She’s amazing. Moving my arm so I can hold her to me, I run my hand through her hair and kiss her forehead. It’s the last thing I remember before falling asleep.
